Is it worth visiting the Borghese Gallery?

How to get to Borghese Gallery?
Borghese Gallery is inside of Villa Borghese, which is a popular park in Rome. From Roma Termini, you can take a short 10 minute bus ride. There is a bus stop right out front of the gallery!
Otherwise, from Roma Termini, it is a half an hour walk, where you can admire other buildings along the walk.
What should I see in the Borghese Gallery?
There are so many incredible pieces of art in the Borghese Gallery that are worth seeing. But to know the main attractions, you can certainly check out works from the famous Raphael and Bernini.
Apollo and Daphne
Apollo and Daphne are a life size white marble sculpture that was made by Bernini between 1622 and 1625.
In the myth, Apollo fell in love with Daphne, but she was refusing to accept his advances. He was hunting her down and when he finally caught her, she turns into a tree which is seen in the sculpture.
Young Woman with Unicorn
Raphael painted the Young Woman with Unicorn back in the very early 1500s. The painting was originally oil on panel before being moved to canvas.
The Deposition
Another famous art piece by Raphael is his famous The Deposition painting. It was painting in 1507 and was commissioned by Atalanta Baglioni of Perugia to be the central altarpiece. This painting was also Raphael’s last commission he did in Perugia.
Boy with a Basket of Fruit
Caravaggio had some incredible pieces of work in the Borghese Gallery, including his Boy with a Basket of Fruit painting. It’s estimated to be painted around 1593 and was one of Caravaggio’s first paintings he had done.
David
No, this isn’t Michelangelo’s David, this is Bernini’s incredible version of young David. Totally different to Michelangelo’s David, but also worth seeing this incredible marble white sculpture.
