FAQ about Rome Tours

How do I book a Rome tour?

You can book online or over the phone. All Rome tours must be prepaid for with Visa or Mastercard at the time of reservation. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any reservations without prepayment.

Where do I meet the tour?

Meeting points for all Rome tours are close to the tour destination. You will be given full instructions on where to meet the tour on your confirmation email, which you receive once you have completed your reservation.

Do you offer hotel pickups?

Hotel pickups from accommodation providers in central locations are available for certain Rome tours. You can select your accommodation from the drop-down menu when you book. If your hotel is not listed, contact us and we can help you find the closest pickup location. Unfortunately, we cannot pickup from private addresses including Airbnb.

What happens if I need to cancel the tour?

Cancellation or change of date outside of seven days of departure will result in a 25% cancellation fee. Cancellation or change of date within 7 days of departure will result in a 50% loss of the ticket price. Failure to board, change of date or cancellation within 72 hours of departure will result in full fare forfeiture. You can read our full cancellation policy on our Terms and Conditions page here.

How many people are on tour?

The size of the group will depend on the tour. Most Rome walking tours have a maximum of 15-20 travellers. Tours that include coach transport will usually be larger, but will often be spilt up for walking tour components based on language. You can contact us if you have any questions regarding group sizes for specific tours.

Can you arrange a tour to somewhere not mentioned on your website?

We can arrange private Rome tours to just about anywhere! Just contact us with your request, number of travellers and dates of travel and we will arrange a quote.

Will there be a break on the tour?

We always schedule one or more breaks, depending on the length of the tour. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to make an unscheduled break on shared tours, but do chat with your guide if you have an emergency.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Where food is included in the tour, most dietary requirements can be accommodated if you let us know prior to your tour. Please include any dietary requirements in the notes when you book or speak to one of our friendly staff before you make your reservations.

Can I take photos?

Yes, photos are permitted at most locations. However, bulky equipment, large bags, tripods and flash photography are not permitted.

Why are there still queues even though we have Skip the Line tickets?

Because of security regulations at some locations (including the Colosseum and the Vatican), bags are subject to inspection by a metal detector and this can cause delays regardless of the ticket. Large bags, suitcases and backpacks may be refused entry and we recommend you leave these at home.

Are tours in English?

All our shared tours are conducted in English, unless otherwise stated. It may be possible to organise a private tour in your language. Please contact us if you wish to organise a private Rome tour.

What should I wear?

We recommend wearing comfortable, weather appropriate clothes, including a hat for outdoor tours. Most Rome tours involve walking, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Some locations, especially places of worship including the Vatican Museums, require visitors to adhere to a dress code. Clothing that covers your knees and shoulders is essential for tours to these destinations.

I know large bags aren't permitted in the Colosseum, but how big is too big?

Unfortunately, there is no standard size for bags in the Colosseum and it is totally at the discretion of the security personnel to refuse entry. If you must bring a bag, we therefore recommend you bring the smallest bag you have and leave any large bags behind.
